Ensure Your Senior Pet’s Quality of Life

We are here to help ensure that your pet is safe and happy throughout the “golden years.” Just as our health care needs change as we age, your pet’s health care needs — nutritional needs, exercise habits, etc. — also change. As with humans, some health issues that affect older pets can begin with very subtle changes that may go unnoticed until the problem has become serious.

Regular wellness examinations help our veterinarians stay ahead of these issues as they develop. We welcome your questions and encourage you to be involved in decisions regarding your pet’s health care.

Recognizing Age-Related Health Concerns

We understand the aging process for all types of animals and can help you help your pet by recognizing signs of age-related medical conditions and adjusting treatment as a condition progresses. Routine wellness blood work and other routine diagnostic testing allow us to evaluate how your pet’s health is either responding to current management strategies or changing with age.

What Age-Related Health Concerns Would an Older Pet Have?

  • Arthritis and Joint Pain
  • Dental Problems
  • Cognitive Dysfunction
  • Vision and Hearing Loss
  • Decreased Immune Function
  • Digestive Problems
  • Urinary Tract Issues
  • Heart Disease
  • Metabolic Disorders
  • Cancer
  • Weight Management Challenges

Regular veterinary check-ups and proactive healthcare measures can help manage and mitigate these age-related health concerns, improving the quality of life and longevity of older pets.

Scheduling an appointment:

To optimize our efficiency and reduce client waiting times, we prefer to operate primarily by appointments. Drop-off appointments may be requested by the pet owner to maximize his/her time or suggested by our staff if all appointments are filled for the day and the pet owner would like his animal evaluated or treated the same day.
